Character drawings

In order not to get out of practice when drawing portraits, it is important to me to keep drawing different face studies in my sketchbook between illustration assignments. After the release of Season 4 of Stranger Things (a Netflix sci-fi mystery series), the characters were great subjects for my sketchbook. The focus of this exercise was to achieve as much similarity as possible without going into too much detail (as they are exercise sketches and not commissioned portraits). 

Keeping sketchbooks is a good variation from the (mostly digital) illustration assignments and a great opportunity to further develop your skills.
